Embracing God's Grace: A Season of Thankfulness and Anticipation
Hey, Leesburg family! As we dive into this new year, we take Tuesdays for focused prayer and fasting for the direction God is leading us in 2025. I pray you are joining us on this journey. Several are doing sugar fasts, Daniel fasts, or one-day-a-week fasts. I'm so encouraged and blessed to hear what God is doing in your lives as you fast and pray. God is doing big things at Leesburg... and what a blessing it is to be a part of it!
I want us to take a moment to reflect on the incredible blessings we've received through Christ. Ephesians 1:1-14 reminds us of the huge work God has done in our lives. He has chosen, redeemed, and assured us through His Spirit. Let's take a moment to be thankful for these amazing truths.
Chosen by the Father
Before the world even began, God chose us to be His own. This isn't about anything we've done; it's all about His glorious grace. As we think about this, let's be thankful for the identity we have in Christ. We're not just wandering through life; we're beloved children of God, called to be holy and blameless before Him.
Redeemed by the Son
Through Jesus' sacrifice, we've been redeemed. Our sins are forgiven, and we're set free from the bondage of sin. This redemption is a testament to the riches of God's grace, lavished upon us with wisdom and insight. Let's live in the freedom Christ has given us, continually praising Him for the gift of salvation.
Assured by the Spirit
The Holy Spirit is our guarantee, our seal of the inheritance we have in Christ. This assurance gives us confidence as we navigate the uncertainties of life. We're not alone; the Spirit guides us, comforts us, and empowers us to fulfill God's mission.
A Call to Fasting and Prayer
As we step into this new year, let's embrace the spiritual discipline of fasting. Fasting is more than just skipping meals; it's a time to draw closer to God, seeking His will and preparing our hearts for His work. On this Tuesday in January, consider setting aside time to fast and pray for the future of our ministry at Leesburg.
We're in a season of anticipation, knowing that God has big things in store for us. From the expansion of our education wing to the search for a new worship minister, and the unknown opportunities that lie ahead, we trust in His perfect plan. Let's pray for wisdom, guidance, and unity as we step into these new ventures.
Join Us for Wednesday Night Prayer and Scripture
I want to personally invite you to join us on Wednesday night for a time of prayer, scripture reading, and meditation. This gathering won't have formal teaching, but we'll focus on seeking God's presence and aligning our hearts with His Word. Together, we'll lift our voices in prayer, asking for His blessing and direction for our church and community.
As we come together in thankfulness and anticipation, let's remember our identity in Christ and the abundant grace He has provided. Let's live confidently and authentically, rooted in His love and purpose.
I can't wait to see you there as we unite in prayer and seek the Lord's guidance for the journey ahead.
