Peter's Journey: Bold Move
Dear Leesburg Christian Church Family,
I hope you left yesterday different than when you came. It was a joy to gather with you as we explored John 21:1-14,focusing on Peter’s bold move and the profound restoration he experienced with Jesus. We dove into how John’s Gospel uniquely captures the personal and transformative encounters with Christ, emphasizing the theme of believing in Jesus as the Messiah. We saw how Peter, despite his past failures, was actively waiting and ready to respond to Jesus’ call, illustrating the importance of being in motion and open to God’s direction.
As we reflect on this message, I encourage you to consider these questions:
How can you actively wait on the Lord in your current circumstances?
Are there areas in your life where you need to recognize Jesus’ presence and guidance, even if it’s not immediately apparent?
How can you bring what you have and place it in Jesus’ hands, trusting Him to multiply your efforts?
Our memory verse for this week is John 21:6:
“He said, ‘Throw your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you will find some.’ When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.”
Let this verse remind you of the power of obedience and the abundance that comes from following Jesus’ instructions.
This week’s application challenge:
I invite you to identify one area in your life where you feel you’ve been striving on your own. Take a step back, pray, and ask Jesus for guidance. Then, make a conscious effort to follow His lead, even if it means making a small adjustment, like casting your net on the other side. Share your experiences with a friend or small group, and encourage each other in this journey of faith.
